The Daniel Defense 7.0 Free Float Rail System is the lightest rail handguard available on the market, bar none! It weighs an astonishing 8.5 Ozs. (including the threaded ring, barrel nut and indexing pins) but is as sturdy as similar designs weighing twice as much!

The 7.0 Free Float Picatinny Handguard was designed to work with carbine length AR15 gas systems and its exceptionally light weight makes it perfect for short rifles where size and weight are crucial performance attributes. The indexing pins are stainless steel while all other components are 6061-T6 aluminum. The finish is Mil-Spec hard coat anodized black.
Rails are 1913 Mil-Spec and are 100% checked for conformity. Every rail includes your choice of ladders or panels, which are made from santoprene, which can handle heat up to 350 degrees.
The Daniel Defense M4 Rail Handguard System was designed around these parameters:
Must be free float.
Must be light weight and strong.
Must be able to quickly dissipate heat.

Must lock to barrel nut or upper receiver to prevent spin.

Precision CNC machined from a block of 6061 T6 aluminum and finished in hard coat type 3 mil-spec anodized black for a rock hard lasting finish while weighing in at a mere 8.5 ozs.
